President Bola Tinubu arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, on Monday to offer his condolences to the victims of last Tuesday’s flood, which resulted in 37 deaths, extensive property damage, and displaced over one million residents of Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Area.
Upon arrival at the Airforce Base in Maiduguri, President Tinubu was welcomed by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, as well as his counterparts from Bauchi, Kogi, and Sokoto States—Bala Mohammed, Usman Ododo, and Ahmed Aliyu—who had previously visited Governor Zulum to express their sympathies.
Following his arrival, President Tinubu is scheduled to visit the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, and tour the flood disaster camps housing the affected victims in Maiduguri.
Further details will be provided later.
