President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, on his birthday.
In a statement, the President extended his best wishes to Kwankwaso, his family, friends, and political associates, praising his longstanding contributions to national development. Over the years, Kwankwaso has served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives during the aborted Third Republic, two-term Governor of Kano State, Minister of Defence, and Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District.
President Tinubu highlighted Kwankwaso’s enduring influence in Northern Nigeria, describing his pro-people politics as reminiscent of the legacies of the late Mallam Aminu Kano and the late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.
“Senator Kwankwaso is a friend and ally with whom I served in the National Assembly in 1992 and later as governors in 1999. We also worked together in founding the All Progressives Congress. Although he later left the APC to establish the New Nigeria Peoples Party, he remains within the progressive fold,” the President said.
He wished Kwankwaso good health and many more years of service to the nation.
