Residents of Gidan-Bijimi in Kawu ward of Bwari Area Council were thrown into panic on Wednesday night after bandits stormed the community and abducted six girls and a 16-year-old boy. The attack occurred around 9:47 pm, with gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles invading two houses near the Kaduna border and whisking away the teenagers. Locals described the incident as terrifying, noting that the bandits operated with confidence and unleashed sporadic gunfire to scare residents.

A community member, Suleiman Shuaibu, confirmed the abductions, revealing that the victims were aged between 17 and 23, including his own cousin. He said vigilantes attempted to engage the attackers but retreated due to the criminals’ superior firepower. The attack marks yet another troubling escalation in a region already grappling with rising insecurity along the Abuja–Kaduna axis.
