The Kogi State Police Command has dismissed reports of a bandit invasion in Zango, Crusher, and Felele communities in Lokoja, describing the story as false and aimed at creating unnecessary panic. The statement was issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP William Ovye Aya.

The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, warned individuals spreading such rumors to desist, noting that anyone found culpable will be arrested and prosecuted. He emphasized that the police remain fully committed to maintaining law and order in the state.

CP Kankarofi reassured residents that tactical teams, including the Police Mobile Force and counter-terrorism units, have been deployed to strategic locations to ensure public safety. He urged citizens to continue with their normal activities while reporting any suspicious movements to the authorities.
