President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday received former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa following Jonathan’s return from Guinea-Bissau, where he had travelled on an election monitoring mission.

The visit comes after concerns were raised about his safety in the wake of the recent military takeover in Guinea-Bissau. President Tinubu welcomed the former President as he briefed him on the situation in the West African nation and the progress of the monitoring exercise.

The meeting underscores Nigeria’s continued commitment to regional stability, democratic governance, and active engagement in the affairs of the West African sub-region.
