
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined leaders across the country in celebrating Professor Jerry Gana, a prominent statesman and distinguished academic, as he marks his 80th birthday.
In a goodwill message, the President paid tribute to Professor Gana’s long-standing influence in Nigeria’s public sphere, acknowledging his impact as a scholar, communicator, and policy advocate. Professor Gana has held several key national positions over the years, including serving as Minister of Information and later leading the Mass Mobilisation for Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER), where he played a visible role in public enlightenment efforts.
President Tinubu lauded him for consistently promoting unity and civic responsibility, describing him as an articulate leader whose contributions have shaped national discourse for decades. He commended the former minister’s commitment to democratic development and nation-building.
The President wished Professor Gana renewed strength, good health, and many more years of service to the nation.
