The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday organised coordinated protests across several states, drawing attention to the worsening security situation in the country.
The demonstrations, which took place in major cities and strategic locations, saw the labour union joined by various civil society groups and activists. Participants called on the government to urgently strengthen measures aimed at tackling violent crimes, kidnappings and other security threats affecting citizens.
According to the NLC, the continued spread of insecurity poses serious risks to lives, livelihoods and economic stability, stressing that decisive and sustained intervention by authorities is required to restore public confidence and safety nationwide.
