The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has launched “Operation Eagle Eye” along major highways in Borno State, including the Maiduguri–Kano, Maiduguri–Bama, and Maiduguri–Baga routes, to enhance road safety during the Christmas period.
The initiative focuses on early risk detection, rapid incident response, and public awareness, with patrols, standby rescue teams, and collaboration with traffic and medical authorities. NEMA’s Borno coordinator urged motorists to drive safely, avoid speeding and unnecessary night travel, and report emergencies promptly.
Similar operations are underway in other states, including Kaduna and Sokoto, as part of NEMA’s nationwide festive safety campaign. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
