The Federal Ministry of Finance has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Niger State Government to develop mass housing and agricultural settlements.
Signed by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the agreement will see Niger State provide up to 100,000 hectares of land for integrated farming and housing communities.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite said the project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting that combining housing with agriculture would boost productivity, improve food security, and encourage youth participation in farming.
Governor Bago described the initiative as a key step toward unlocking the state’s agricultural potential and assured that land documentation would be processed quickly to start implementation.
The project is expected to create jobs, strengthen agricultural value chains, and stimulate economic growth in rural communities. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
