Share

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to improve fertilizer efficiency, soil health, and overall agricultural productivity in Nigeria.
The collaboration will deliver data-driven, location-specific fertilizer recommendations, replacing generic guidance and helping farmers reduce costs while boosting crop yields. It also aligns with the Presidential Soil Health Scheme, with soil testing laboratories planned across all 774 Local Government Areas.
IITA will provide technical expertise, training, and monitoring support, ensuring that farmers can apply research-backed solutions effectively. The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the partnership is a step toward modernizing agriculture and securing Nigeria’s food supply. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
