The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have entered into a strategic partnership to deploy space-based and geospatial intelligence in the fight against crime across Nigeria.
The collaboration, formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will enable NASRDA to provide satellite imagery, geospatial analytics, and change-detection tools to support EFCC investigations. The intelligence support is expected to enhance the commission’s capacity to track illicit activities, monitor hard-to-reach locations, and strengthen evidence gathering in cases involving economic and financial crimes.
Officials from both agencies said the initiative reflects a renewed commitment to inter-agency cooperation aimed at improving national security and law enforcement effectiveness. They added that implementation of the agreement will commence immediately, with emphasis on intelligence-led operations and asset recovery.
