Can Dangote Refinery Become the World’s Largest After $350m EIL Expansion?

Share

Dangote Refinery has signed a $350 million contract with Engineers India Limited (EIL) to manage the next phase of expansion at Africa’s largest refinery.
EIL will act as Project Management Consultant and EPCM consultant, overseeing works to raise the refinery’s capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million bpd.
The expansion will also enable the production of Euro VI–compliant fuels and boost petrochemical output, including polypropylene production rising to 2.4 million tonnes per year.
Once completed, the upgrade could make Dangote Refinery the world’s largest single-site refinery, strengthening Nigeria’s fuel self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on imports. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
