The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has cautioned officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) against charging citizens fees higher than the officially approved rates.
Tunji-Ojo issued the warning on Tuesday during an unannounced visit to the NIS passport office in Gwagwalada, Abuja. He emphasized the importance of transparency and adherence to official fees, urging officials to maintain integrity in their interactions with the public.
The minister’s visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Interior to ensure accountability and protect citizens from exploitation at government service points.
