
The Federal Government has disbursed a total of ₦152 billion to contractors for verified contracts, in line with due process and existing financial regulations. The disclosure was made by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, who stated that every payment processed by the Federal Ministry of Finance undergoes rigorous verification to protect taxpayers’ funds and ensure transparency and accountability.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite acknowledged the financial pressures caused by payment delays and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continuous dialogue and engagement to resolve outstanding issues. She also called on contractors to respect the Ministry’s processes and personnel, commending staff for their dedication despite reported cases of intimidation and harassment.
The Federal Government assured contractors of its ongoing support, emphasizing that all payment requests will continue to be processed timely and consistently, in strict adherence to due process, while fostering an environment of mutual respect, transparency, and accountability.
