The Kwankwasiyya movement has announced that the Deputy Governor of Kano State has tendered his resignation from office.
According to a statement released by the group’s spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the decision was taken to ensure peace and allow the office to function effectively without disruption.
The statement emphasized that the resignation should not be interpreted as an admission of any allegations raised by the Kano State House of Assembly. The Deputy Governor reaffirmed his unblemished record in public service.
It further explained that the decision was aimed at preventing political tensions that could hinder government operations and the development of the state.
The Deputy Governor will now focus on strengthening the Kwankwasiyya movement and formulating political strategies ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group called on its supporters and the citizens of Kano State to continue respecting the rule of law and supporting good governance.
