President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Easter greetings to Nigerians at home and abroad, emphasising the season’s message of sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness.
In his 2026 Easter message, President Tinubu said the celebration reminds Christians of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the redemptive power of salvation for humanity. He noted that the significance of Easter resonates with Nigeria’s current realities, marked by economic challenges and security concerns, even as his administration continues to address these issues.
The President acknowledged the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, who leave their families to confront insecurity, and reassured Nigerians that the government is providing resources and forging international partnerships to tackle terrorism and banditry decisively. He cited his recent visit to Jos, Plateau State, where he commiserated with victims of recent attacks and reassured citizens of better days ahead.
“Despite the challenges, our citizens appreciate our efforts. I will continue to remind us of the imperative of unity and oneness. No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he said.
President Tinubu urged Nigerians in all parts of the country facing insecurity to support lawful efforts, look out for one another, and reject forces that threaten national well-being. He highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at shared prosperity, emphasising that true transformation requires sacrifice.
As the nation approaches another electoral cycle, the President called for civic responsibility, adherence to the Electoral Act, and political maturity, noting that democracy flourishes where restraint, informed participation, and responsibility prevail.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic direction and assured citizens that their support strengthens his administration’s efforts to build a safer, more prosperous nation.
“Fellow Nigerians, you have been very supportive of my administration because you trust our ability to make our nation better. I will continue to serve to retain your trust,” President Tinubu stated.
He concluded by wishing all Nigerians a Happy Easter.
