President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with a delegation of Plateau State stakeholders led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which lasted several hours, is believed to be a follow-up to the President’s recent visit to Plateau State after the deadly Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos.

Although details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, sources said the talks focused on security challenges and humanitarian interventions in the state following recent attacks that claimed several lives.

The delegation reportedly included the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to gather data on victims for possible support and compensation.

During his earlier visit to Plateau, President Tinubu assured residents that the Federal Government would strengthen security measures in the state, including the deployment of over 5,000 AI-enabled surveillance cameras across Jos and other parts of Plateau.

The latest meeting comes amid renewed concerns over violent attacks in parts of Plateau State, including Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Bassa local government areas.
