
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election after recording a landslide victory in the party’s nationwide presidential primary election.
The incumbent president defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, by polling about 10.9 million votes in the direct primary conducted across the country’s 8,809 wards. Osifo secured 16,503 votes in the exercise. The results were announced during the national collation of votes at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Tinubu’s victory officially confirms him as the APC flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election, with party leaders and supporters describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of his leadership and administration ahead of the next general election.
