Finance Minister Wale Edun Unveils Performance Management System to Strengthen Public Service Efficiency

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, officially launched the Performance Management System at the Federal Ministry of Finance today, taking a significant step toward improving transparency, accountability, and performance across the Public Service.

The event, held in the Conference Room of the Permanent Secretary, Ms. Lydia Jafiya, saw Mr. Edun highlight the importance of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP 25), introduced as part of ongoing civil service reforms. He emphasized that institutionalizing performance management, a key component of the FCSSIP 25, is essential for boosting productivity and service delivery in the civil service.

To reinforce this culture, the Minister announced that Thursdays will now be recognized as Performance Management System Day, urging staff to focus on performance not just on that day but as a daily priority.

Mr. Edun concluded by encouraging staff to embrace teamwork and continually aim for excellence, acknowledging their vital role in serving the nation with distinction.
