Security Operatives Recover 117 Stolen Livestock After Foiling Bandits’ Attack in Katsina

Security operatives in Katsina State have recovered 117 stolen livestock after thwarting a bandits’ attack in Charanchi Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out by a joint team comprising the Katsina State Police Command, the military, and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, followed credible intelligence on the activities of armed bandits in Saburu and Billiri communities.

Acting on the information, the security team deployed to the area and intercepted the fleeing suspects. A gunfight ensued, forcing the bandits to retreat into nearby forests and abandon the stolen animals.

Police authorities said all 117 recovered livestock have been secured, while efforts are ongoing to identify their rightful owners and reunite them with the recovered animals.

The command added that security operatives have intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice, reaffirming their commitment to tackling banditry and protecting lives and property across the state.
