Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday paid a traditional homage to the Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, reaffirming his deep respect and regard for the traditional institution.

The visit took place shortly before the Vice President departed for Lagos, where he joined governors from the 36 states of the federation in paying the customary Sallah homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at his Lagos residence.

The homage to the revered Borno monarch highlighted the Vice President’s continued recognition of the vital role traditional rulers play in promoting unity, peace, and cultural heritage across the country.

Vice President Shettima was warmly received at the palace of the Shehu of Borno during the visit.
