The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned governors allegedly attempting to interfere in the political affairs of Rivers State, saying such actions could have consequences in their respective states.
Wike, who spoke amid the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, cautioned political actors against taking advantage of federal resources and influence to meddle in the state’s affairs.
“Those who think they can come here and do anything because they believe so much money Mr. President has made available to some states, be careful, trouble is on the way to your state,” he said.
The former Rivers State governor maintained that no external political force would be allowed to dictate the political direction of the state, insisting that Rivers politics remains a matter for its people and stakeholders.
His remarks come as political alignments and realignments continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Rivers State remaining one of the country’s most closely watched political battlegrounds.
