Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered the demolition of illegal structures encroaching on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway corridor as part of efforts to protect public infrastructure and ease ongoing development works along the route.
The governor directed relevant government agencies to remove unauthorized buildings and other obstructions identified within the designated right-of-way of the expressway project.
According to the state government, the exercise is aimed at ensuring the smooth completion of infrastructure projects along the corridor, improving traffic flow, and enhancing public safety.
Authorities stated that affected property owners and occupants had previously been notified and warned against illegal developments within the road alignment.
The Lagos-Badagry Expressway remains one of the state’s major transportation projects, designed to improve connectivity, support economic activities, and facilitate movement between Lagos and neighboring communities.
Government officials reiterated the administration’s commitment to enforcing urban planning regulations and protecting critical infrastructure across the state.
