Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has alleged that there is a fresh plot to prevent the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from participating in the 2027 general elections.
Atiku raised the concern while commenting on recent political developments, claiming that certain forces are working to undermine opposition participation in the electoral process.
He warned that any attempt to exclude political parties from the ballot would pose a serious threat to democracy and limit voters’ choices during elections.
The former Vice President did not provide specific details of those allegedly involved but called for vigilance among democratic stakeholders and political actors.
The allegation comes amid growing political tension and heightened discussions around preparations for the 2027 general elections, as parties begin positioning themselves for the contest.
