
A Nigerian soldier who was abducted by suspected kidnappers has regained his freedom after escaping from captivity in Benue State.
According to military sources, the soldier, attached to the 130 Battalion in Baga, was kidnapped on June 27 while travelling on a welfare pass to the battalion’s rear location in Ogoja, Cross River State.
The soldier reportedly escaped from his captors on June 30 and safely arrived at the 72 Special Forces Battalion in Makurdi, where he was received by military personnel.
Military authorities have confirmed that he will undergo medical evaluation, debriefing, and other administrative procedures before returning to duty.
