Renewed violence has claimed the lives of at least six people following an attack on Marit and Gashish communities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attack, which occurred during the night, was carried out by suspected gunmen who reportedly invaded the communities and opened fire on residents.

The incident also forced many people to flee their homes amid fears of further attacks.
