FG Assures Nigerians as No Confirmed Ebola Case Recorded in Country

The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that there is no confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country, urging citizens to remain calm and rely only on verified information from official sources.

The assurance was given by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during the inaugural meeting of the Communication Sub-Committee of the Presidential Task Force on Ebola Virus Disease Preparedness and Emerging Public Health Threats in Abuja.

The minister said the government remains vigilant and has activated necessary preparedness measures to prevent any outbreak of the disease.

He urged Nigerians to avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic, stressing that official updates would be communicated through appropriate government channels.

Mohammed Idris also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding public health through coordinated surveillance, effective communication and collaboration with relevant health authorities.

He assured citizens that the government would continue monitoring the situation closely and respond promptly to any emerging public health threats.
