Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially named Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, reaffirming his confidence in the partnership as the state prepares for another electoral cycle.

The announcement was made during a strategic meeting with Federal Political Appointees serving under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf said the decision was based on Garo’s loyalty, dedication and contributions to the administration since assuming office.

The governor described Garo as a dependable and effective deputy, expressing satisfaction with his performance and reaffirming his confidence in his ability to continue supporting the administration’s development agenda.

Governor Yusuf also passed a vote of confidence in the Deputy Governor, commending his competence, commitment and sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.

He called on party leaders, political appointees and supporters to remain united and committed as the administration consolidates its achievements and prepares for the 2027 governorship election.
