Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, has pleaded not guilty to charges of alleged certificate forgery and related financial offences before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The charges include allegations that the former minister used forged academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates, received approximately ₦29.5 million in salaries and other emoluments under false pretences, and engaged in money laundering.

Nnaji entered a not guilty plea to all the charges when they were read in court, paving the way for a full trial.

Following his arraignment, the court granted him bail and adjourned the matter to a later date for the commencement of trial.

The case is being prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which alleges that the offences relate to documents submitted during Nnaji’s ministerial screening and his subsequent receipt of public funds.
