A total of 19 directors out of 38 shortlisted for the position of permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service have not passed the qualifying examination.
According to a memo signed by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee and released by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Tuesday, the exams were held on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The selection process for new permanent secretaries, initiated by the Federal Government through OHCSF in October, aims to fill vacancies across eight states.
Providing an update on the ongoing process, Eno Olotu, Director of Press at OHCSF, confirmed that 19 out of the 38 eligible directors who participated in the exam passed the first stage. These successful candidates will advance to the second stage, which will test their proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Olotu emphasized that the recruitment process follows a stringent, three-stage procedure designed to ensure only the most qualified candidates are selected.
Candidates who successfully pass the second stage will proceed to the final stage on Friday, November 15, 2024, where they will face a panel of senior bureaucrats and private sector experts.
