The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that the name of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The disclosure was made by the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, who stated that the development followed the party’s successful access to the INEC portal for the submission of candidates’ details.

Dickson also revealed that the party has filed an appeal and a stay of execution against a recent court ruling affecting its status, maintaining that the NDC remains a legally recognized political party and has concluded its primary elections.

According to him, the names of candidates who emerged from the party’s primaries are being uploaded in line with the electoral timetable, with the process ongoing for other elective positions.

The NDC leadership expressed confidence that all necessary submissions would be completed within the timelines provided by INEC as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.
