The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence in securing a landslide victory in the 2027 presidential election following the formal confirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the party’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
The party officially submitted the nomination forms of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima to the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, ahead of the deadline for the submission of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking after the submission, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that President Tinubu remains the party’s presidential candidate, while Vice President Shettima has been retained as his running mate. He said the party is optimistic that its record in government will earn it renewed support from Nigerians in the 2027 general election.
The formal confirmation puts to rest months of speculation over a possible change to the APC’s vice-presidential ticket, reaffirming the Tinubu-Shettima partnership as the party heads into the 2027 presidential election.
