Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has urged party members and supporters not to be discouraged by the Court of Appeal judgment concerning the party’s state congresses, insisting that the ruling does not affect the validity of the party’s primary elections.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Atiku dismissed claims that the judgment had invalidated the ADC’s presidential ticket, describing such assertions as political propaganda aimed at misleading Nigerians.
He maintained that the appellate court’s decision was limited to issues relating to the conduct of the party’s state congresses and the tenure of its state executive committees, stressing that it did not nullify candidates who emerged through the party’s statutory primary elections.
Atiku said the ADC would challenge the judgment at the Supreme Court, expressing confidence that the party would obtain a definitive legal resolution.
He also urged supporters to remain focused and not lose confidence as the party continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
