Former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his proactive approach to addressing insecurity across Nigeria.

In a statement posted on his X account, Bruce praised the Federal Government’s approval for the immediate establishment of at least 1,000 forest guards and the planned increase in military presence across forests and vulnerable communities.

According to the former lawmaker, the measures reflect a strong commitment by the administration to strengthening the nation’s security architecture and protecting citizens from criminal activities.

Bruce noted that the deployment of forest guards would improve surveillance and intelligence gathering in forested areas that have often served as hideouts for kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements. He added that the increased military presence in vulnerable communities would help restore public confidence and enhance security across affected regions.

The commendation comes as the Federal Government continues to implement measures aimed at combating insecurity through military operations, intelligence-driven interventions, and community-based security initiatives.

Security experts have repeatedly stressed the importance of securing forests and remote areas, which have increasingly been exploited by criminal groups as operational bases.

Ben Bruce’s endorsement adds to growing support for the security initiatives being spearheaded by NSA Nuhu Ribadu as the government intensifies efforts to protect lives and property across the country.
