Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian pop icon Shakira have reunited ahead of their highly anticipated performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

The global music stars were spotted rehearsing at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Sunday’s World Cup final between Spain and Argentina will be played. In a video shared on his official X account, Burna Boy was seen embracing Shakira as the pair prepared for the historic halftime show.

Captioning the video, Burna Boy wrote: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”

FIFA had earlier announced that Burna Boy and Shakira will headline the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show, performing the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai.” The duo previously performed the anthem during the opening ceremony in Mexico City.

To accommodate the performance, FIFA has extended the halftime interval to approximately 30 minutes, with 15 minutes dedicated to match analysis and an 11-minute live musical performance.

The halftime show will also feature performances from BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus, and Coldplay, while beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are expected to make appearances.

According to FIFA, the entertainment spectacle is aimed at supporting global education initiatives for children, making it one of the most ambitious halftime productions in World Cup history. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
