Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi will honour his reported commitment to serve only one four-year term if elected president.
Speaking on the matter, Kwankwaso said he believes Obi will not renege on the agreement, describing him as someone who would keep his word.
According to Kwankwaso, the understanding has been formally documented, with separate agreements signed between the political party and both leaders.
He stated that the written agreements provide confidence that the commitment would be respected, adding that he does not expect Obi to reverse his position.
The remarks come amid ongoing political realignments and coalition discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
