The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded about 90 percent of the results from the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election to its Results Viewing Portal (IReV).

As of 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, INEC confirmed that results from 2,208 out of 2,445 polling units had been successfully uploaded to the platform, which allows the public to view polling unit results in real time.

The governorship election, which features 14 political parties, is being closely watched as incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeks re-election.

Other major contenders in the race include candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

INEC’s IReV system is part of its efforts to improve transparency and credibility in elections, allowing citizens, observers, and political stakeholders to independently verify results as they are uploaded from polling units across the state.

The commission is expected to continue uploading the remaining results as collation progresses in various local government areas. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
