Eighteen first-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday converged on the Kebbi State Government House in Birnin Kebbi for a closed-door meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration on governance and party affairs.
The meeting, hosted by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, brought together governors from APC-controlled states for consultations, although the official agenda was not immediately disclosed.
Journalists were barred from the meeting venue as deliberations continued behind closed doors, with party officials indicating that an official communiqué would be issued at the end of the session.
Governors from several states attended the meeting, while a few others were reported to have sent apologies due to prior official engagements.
Although details of the discussions remained undisclosed as of the time of filing this report, political observers believe the gathering is part of ongoing consultations among the ruling party’s first-term governors to deepen cooperation on governance, policy implementation, and other issues affecting the APC.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to be made public after the governors conclude their deliberations. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
