Vice President Kashim Shettima has recounted an incident in the early months of the current administration where, according to him, unfounded claims were circulated alleging that he was plotting to remove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office.
Speaking on the matter, Shettima said that about three months after their inauguration, he was informed that some individuals had taken such claims to the President, suggesting he intended to “take over power.”
He further noted that President Tinubu personally called him over the issue, dismissing the rumours in a firm but light-hearted manner, while also addressing concerns raised about his political associations and style of dressing.
