Tinubu Congratulates Oyebanji on Re-election Victory in Ekiti

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election victory in the Ekiti State governorship election, describing the outcome as a strong vote of confidence in his leadership.

The President also commended the people of Ekiti State for what he described as their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election, as well as their trust in Governor Oyebanji.

He praised security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue improving the credibility of elections ahead of upcoming polls, including the Osun governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

Tinubu noted that Oyebanji’s victory makes him the first governor in Ekiti State history to win consecutive re-election, adding that his first term recorded notable achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development.

According to the President, the renewed mandate reflects public confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance in the state.

He urged the governor to remain magnanimous in victory and to work with all stakeholders across the state to consolidate on previous achievements.

Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election, encouraging them to support the governor in the task of advancing development in Ekiti State.

The President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working with the state to deliver more democratic dividends and strengthen the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda nationwide.

He prayed for wisdom, strength and good health for Governor Oyebanji as he continues in office for another term.
