Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that the success of any minister largely depends on the confidence and support of the President, stressing that effective governance requires strong backing from the nation’s leader.

Speaking at a public event, Wike noted that regardless of a minister’s competence, delivering results becomes difficult without the President’s trust and support.

The FCT Minister revealed that he regularly asks his wife to pray that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to have confidence in his work, saying such support is essential to fulfilling his responsibilities.

Wike also remarked that while his wife devotes considerable time to prayer, his personal daily prayer is for God to grant him safe return home, adding that he nevertheless values her prayers for the continued confidence of the President.

The minister’s comments underscored the importance he places on teamwork, leadership and the relationship between the President and members of the Federal Executive Council in driving government programmes and policies.
