The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for his arrest over his failure to appear for arraignment.

Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation in connection with the activities of the purported council, which the Presidency has maintained is a non-existent government agency.

The bench warrant was issued after the defendant failed to appear in court for his scheduled arraignment despite being listed to take his plea before the Federal High Court.

His arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged fake presidential council, as authorities continue efforts to prosecute those involved in the case.
