Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that the 2027 presidential election will mark his final attempt to become President of Nigeria.
Atiku made the statement during an interview on ARISE Television on Wednesday, saying he would no longer contest after the 2027 election cycle.
He described the decision as a personal conclusion to his long-standing presidential ambition, noting that his past experience in governance still positions him to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The former presidential candidate, who has contested multiple times without success, maintained that 2027 would be his “final shot” at the presidency.
His declaration has already begun to generate political reactions, especially within opposition circles, as parties and alliances begin early positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
