The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, was pictured on Monday in Abuja alongside the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Mr. Ayo Sotinrin.
The high-level discussions focused on strategic collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in preparation for the 2025 wet season. The initiative is expected to benefit up to 500,000 farmers through timely delivery of inputs, improved post-harvest management, and enhanced access to markets—contributing to increased agricultural productivity, food security, and rural prosperity.
This engagement forms part of the implementation of JICA’s Food Security Emergency Support Programme, valued at ¥12 billion. The funding is aimed at strengthening sustainable food systems and building resilience against global supply chain disruptions.
