In a bold step toward advancing gender equality and inclusive education, the Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Luminah 2030 Initiative, a national programme aimed at empowering girls and promoting equal opportunities in learning.

The initiative, supported under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeks to eliminate barriers preventing girls from accessing quality education and aims to create safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments across Nigeria by the year 2030.

Speaking at the launch event, education stakeholders emphasized that the programme aligns with the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes social inclusion, human capital development, and gender equity. The initiative is expected to target millions of school-aged girls across all 36 states and the FCT through policy reforms, scholarships, mentorship, and community-based advocacy.
