On the fourth day of his State Visit to Saint Lucia, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in Castries, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Caribbean through education, culture, and technology.

Addressing students and faculty, President Tinubu described education as the most powerful tool against poverty, urging students to be bold, consistent, and intellectually curious. He announced a cultural exchange visit to Nigeria for the college’s performing arts group and confirmed a tuition-free scholarship programme for students from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The President encouraged young people not to rely solely on artificial intelligence, but to embrace analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and personal discipline. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s dedication to Afrocentric partnerships and pledged to advance Africa–Caribbean educational and cultural exchanges.

Saint Lucian officials, including the Minister of Education and the Chairman of the college’s Board of Governors, welcomed the visit as a reaffirmation of shared heritage and a symbolic reconnection between Africa and its diaspora. Students expressed gratitude for the scholarships and outreach, describing the visit as a historic moment of unity between two kindred peoples.
