The iconic FIFA Club World Cup trophy made a striking stop at Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York, on Monday as part of its global tour ahead of the highly anticipated final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 13.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the trophy tour includes visits to the home cities of all 32 participating clubs, building global excitement for the final showdown. At a special ceremony in New York, FIFA President Gianni Infantino officially unveiled the trophy and announced that it would be on public display at Trump Tower Atrium (725 5th Avenue) from July 8 to 12, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time.
Football fans will have the opportunity to view and take photos with the coveted prize, immersing themselves in the tournament’s electric atmosphere.
During the unveiling, Infantino was joined by Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo.
“We are here today in Trump Tower, and it’s a great honour to unveil the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in New York,” Infantino said. “This trophy will remain on display until the final, open to every fan of football—or soccer—to enjoy.”
Infantino highlighted the tournament’s global impact:
“Over 2.26 million fans from 168 countries have attended the matches so far. Players from 72 nations have taken part, and clubs from all six continents have scored and earned points. This shows football’s power to unite the world.”
He also emphasized FIFA’s mission to promote peace through sport.
“Our motto for this Club World Cup is ‘Unite for Peace’. In these challenging times, it’s vital to show the world that people can come together in harmony and celebrate the beauty of the game.”
Eric Trump expressed gratitude to FIFA and Infantino for choosing Trump Tower as part of the trophy’s journey.
“On behalf of myself, New York City, the Trump Organization, and everyone in this building—we love you. We’re honoured and excited about what FIFA is doing.”
Ronaldo, a two-time World Cup winner with Brazil, praised the tournament’s growing stature.
“Honestly, I wish I could have played in this competition. It’s incredible. Fans in Brazil and around the world are enjoying every moment, and the experience at the stadiums has been unforgettable,” he said.
Infantino also announced the opening of a new FIFA office at Trump Tower, expanding the organization’s presence in the U.S. This follows the launch of its Legal & Compliance Division office in Miami, supporting the delivery of both the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2026.
“To be truly global, FIFA must also be local. That’s why we’re establishing our presence in New York—not only for this year’s Club World Cup and next year’s World Cup but also as a permanent base,” Infantino said.
He concluded by thanking Eric Trump and the Trump family, noting that former President Donald Trump is also a fan of the sport.
