The newly inaugurated board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has pledged to operate strictly within the confines of its statutory responsibilities, as it sets a renewed vision for the agency’s growth and efficiency. Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress and former governor of Kano State, made this commitment on Wednesday during his formal unveiling as board chairman by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja.

Ganduje emphasized that the board would work collaboratively with FAAN’s executive management, ensuring clarity in roles while upholding service delivery as the agency’s core mission. He noted the importance of studying the FAAN Act to avoid jurisdictional conflicts and maintain operational harmony. Highlighting Nigeria’s role as a leading nation in African aviation, he stressed the board’s responsibility to uphold global standards in safety, service, and stakeholder coordination.

Minister Keyamo, while inaugurating the board, urged members to actively contribute to the development of Nigeria’s aviation sector. He acknowledged the pressing challenges in infrastructure and global aviation trends but expressed confidence in the board’s capacity to guide FAAN toward innovation and progress. He tasked the members with governance rooted in transparency, strategic planning, and strict adherence to the FAAN Act, positioning them as key drivers in shaping the future of aviation in Nigeria.
