
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm birthday felicitations to Engr. Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), applauding his dedication and transformative leadership in Nigeria’s energy sector.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu described Engr. Ahmed as a pivotal figure in the stabilization and reform of the downstream petroleum industry, especially in the post-subsidy era.
“As the pioneer Chief Executive of NMDPRA, Engr. Farouk Ahmed has played a critical role in maintaining fuel availability across the country following the removal of subsidies. He has successfully eliminated fuel queues and has laid a solid foundation for a more transparent, competitive, and consumer-driven energy market,” the statement read.
The President praised Engr. Ahmed’s service to the nation, describing him as “a steady hand guiding a vital sector through a historic transformation.”
President Tinubu wished him continued strength, wisdom, and good health as he continues to champion reforms aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda in the energy sector.
