In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to sustainable development and youth empowerment, the House of Representatives Committee on Renewable Energy is set to introduce a landmark Green Jobs Bill aimed at creating employment opportunities for women and youth in Nigeria’s growing energy sector.

The proposed legislation seeks to mainstream gender and youth participation in renewable energy projects, green infrastructure, and environmentally sustainable enterprises. It will also promote training, innovation, and inclusive access to climate-friendly job opportunities across the country.

This move is seen as a direct complement to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes a just energy transition, job creation, and environmental sustainability. Lawmakers believe the bill will boost productivity, reduce poverty, and accelerate Nigeria’s progress toward a cleaner, more inclusive economy.
